Annual Progress Report 2012

Introduction

This Annual Progress Report 2012 (APR 2012) presents the progresses achieved in the past year [1 Shrawan 2068– 31 Ashad 2069 (17 July 2011-15 July 2012) period of the fiscal year 2011/12 in pursuant of the Annual Work Plan and Budget (AWAB) 2011/12) under the Strategic Operational Plan (StOP) 2009-13. The strategic partnership NGO Federation of Nepalese Indigenous Nationalities (NGO-FONIN), Danida Human Rights and Good Governance Advisory Unit (DanidaHUGOU) and Action Aid Nepal (AAN) began in 2003, for meeting the common goal to consolidate peace and promote inclusive democracy in Nepal respecting human rights and collective rights.
NGO-Federation of Nepalese Indigenous Nationalities (NGO-FONIN) is an umbrella organisation of Indigenous Peoples Organizations (IPOs) and Indigenous Peoples Non-Governmental Organizations (IP-NGOs). Currently it has 107 affiliated member organisations (MOs). Similarly, it has extended to 11 district chapters and is implementing activities at the local level. The major objective of the StOP being implemented by NGO-FONIN is to strengthen NGO-FONIN and its member organizations, network, district chapters and implementing partner for ensuring their access to resources, decision making and to improve livelihood of indigenous peoples inclusive of indigenous women along with their cultural friendly environment accompanying bio-diversities. To achieve the objectives of the organization it has been implementing its five year StOP 2009-13 with eight thematic areas (outputs).
